Additional Material: Social Media Posts

Survivor to Thriver Coaching, LLC

I’m pretty active on social media. You can find me on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn. I thought I would provide some of my posts in this newsletter in case you’re not on social media.

I hope these provide some value for you!

Post 1

“I’m dragging this morning. Motivation is low. I don’t feel like logging into work.

But here’s the truth, I’m not going to listen. I know the only way is through.

Healing is the same way.

You won’t always feel like doing the work. It won’t always feel natural or comfortable. But showing up anyway? That’s where transformation begins.

Stay positive and take action!”

“Some days are going to feel like you’re right back to square one. You’re not going to want to participate in life.

These are the days in which you must fight the most. Take a deep breath and fall back on some of the rituals and practices that help you stay on track with your healing.

Do these things as much as you need to. Pay extra attention to your thoughts, they will be attacking.

You’ve got this, one step at a time.

Stay positive and take action!”

“How we deal with the unknown will determine how effective we are in the here and now. What do I mean by this?

When I was on deployment, we would often get extended due to external circumstances but not known for how long. A lot of unknowns. This caused a lot of stress and anxiety on the ship.

When we allow fear to take over, we’re not at our best. It impairs our cognitive functions, like reasoning and judgement, making it difficult to think and make good decisions. This impacts how we handle the current challenges.

When this happened to me, I would bring my focus back to the present moment and focus on one thing I could control right now.

Stay positive and take action!”

“If chaos feels familiar, peace might feel uncomfortable. But keep leaning into the quiet. That’s where your healing is waiting.

Stay positive and take action!”

Post 5

“Healing doesn't mean you have it all figured out. It means you're willing to start figuring things out, even in the face of fear and self-doubt. That's real courage.

Stay positive and take action!”

Post 6

“Next time you question your self-worth, think about this; you are one-of-one in a world of billions.

You are the only one of you and have a purpose while you’re here.

We need you here, we need your purpose.

Stay positive and take action!”

Post 7

“Healing requires stillness. Breathing. Listening. Being with yourself, without running, without distraction.

Stay positive and take action!”

Post 8

“Your personality is not set. You can change your personality. If you don’t think so, it’s because you don’t want to do the work that’s required to do so. I know because I thought I couldn’t change my personality. I thought I was born with my personality and wouldn’t be able to change it. Why? Because every time I tried, I would fail and go back to the way I was. I made excuses for myself and looked for ways to justify my comfort.

Stay positive and take action!”

Post 9

“When I started to address the sexual abuse from my past, I felt extremely vulnerable and exposed.

As I continued to open up my past a little more and deal with the vulnerability, I started to gain strength.

I was able to get through each moment and build confidence.

I was proving to myself that I was stronger than my past.

I got to the point where I accepted my past, and I could start rebuilding my identity.

Stay positive and take action!”

Post 10

“When you stop pretending…

You stop living for approval. You stop chasing perfection. You start living free.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new; it’s about coming home to who you were before the pain.

And that version of you?

They’ve been waiting for you to come back.

Stay positive and take action!”
