There are very few times in life where perfect is even possible.
Two examples come to mind:
In bowling, a score of 300 is a perfect game.
In June 2017, Alex Honnold achieved a perfect climb of El Capitan in Yosemite, free solo (no ropes). The New York Times described it as “one of the great athletic feats of any kind, ever.” He had to be perfect because even the smallest mistake would have been fatal.
I’m sure there are a few other examples of perfection, but here’s the truth: perfection is rare, and very few people achieve it.
That’s why we need to stop chasing perfection. It’s a waste of time and energy.
Instead, focus on progress.
Progress means getting a little better every day. It’s about being intentional, showing up, and striving to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday.
Perfection might feel unattainable, but progress? Progress is always within reach. And if you stay consistent and keep showing up, progress will carry you much further than perfection ever will.
Stay positive and take action!
