I still have plenty of days where I get “sick of this shit” and just want to quit.
The difference now is that I know what “quitting” looks like because I’ve done it before. I gave up on myself so many times over the years, and I know where that road leads.
Whether you’ve experienced trauma or not, life is going to be hard. Period. It’s just part of being human.
The best thing we can do is meet the “hard” in life with self-compassion and give ourselves the space to breathe.
It’s about having the mindset:
“I don’t have the answer right now. I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m going to figure it out. I’m going to keep moving forward with compassion.”
That’s the best we can do for ourselves.
I ask you to embrace this message today if you’re having one of those days. I ask you to not give up on yourself, to take one more step not knowing how it’s going to work out, but knowing that you’re going to find a way.
You owe it to yourself and I believe in you.
