Mid-Week Motivation: A Simple Moment that Changed Everything

Survivor to Thriver Coaching, LLC

I think I may have written about this already, but I’m going to write about it again because it’s that important.

I was thinking back to the time when I really started making progress on my healing journey. I remember feeling proud of myself for that progress, but I never actually told myself that I was proud.

Then one day, it hit me. I thought, “I should say it… I should actually tell myself I’m proud.”

To be honest, it felt a little cheesy at first. I’d never done anything like that before. But I decided to give it a shot. I took a deep breath and said, “I’m proud of you, Mark.”

And that simple moment was a game changer.

I felt so good afterward, like I had finally given myself something I’d needed to hear for years. I realized how long I’d spent being unkind to myself, and how healing it was just to stop and say those words.

When you have a win, big or small, pause for a moment.
Look yourself in the mirror and say, “I’m proud of you.”
It might feel awkward at first, but you might be surprised how powerful it feels to finally hear it from yourself.

Stay positive and take action!
