“Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls your life.” - Akshay Dubey

You never forget the trauma you endured.

I know I’ll never forget mine.

This doesn’t mean we can’t heal.

We’re not supposed to forget that these life changing events took place.

We’re meant to process them and accept them as a part of who we are.

We cannot heal from any kind of trauma if we continue to run from it.

We cannot heal from any kind of trauma if we continue to pretend it never existed.

I tried this for a long time, and it doesn’t work.

We end up finding a way to deal with it which is usually not good.

I promise you; you have the strength within you to heal.

If you’ve been through a traumatic experience, you’ve already proven how strong you are.

It’s not going to be easy to face that trauma again, but you can do it.

Start small, start slow, and slowly face it head on.

As you heal more and more, your past will have less control on your present.

That’s the goal, to no longer let your past control the present moment.

The goal is to start rebuilding your identity to become the person you were meant to become.

That person’s in there, you just have to be willing to take that first step.

It’s going to be difficult, it’s going to be an up and down journey, but don’t give up on yourself, you deserve to heal.

Stay positive and take action!
