Mid-Week Motivation

Survivor to Thriver Coaching, LLC

It’s usually on the days I don’t want to do something yet do it anyway that my biggest breakthroughs happen.

Like yesterday.
I didn’t feel like writing. Journaling was the last thing I wanted to do.
But I did it anyway… and I wrote a lot.

In my experience, this is how growth happens.
When we push through discomfort, when we don’t let our feelings dictate our actions, and when we show up anyway, something shifts.

The same is true for healing.

Healing isn’t easy.
Most days, it’s not going to be easy at all.
And in the beginning, it can feel like going through hell all over again.

So why would anyone willingly choose to go through hell again?

Here’s why.

Because when you try to forget what happened to you, when you focus on just surviving, you’re already in hell.
It’s a comfortable hell.
A small, familiar place that tricks you into believing things are “okay.”

But it’s a lie.

That comfort is slowly killing you.

To truly heal, you have to break free from that place.
And when you do, all hell is going to break loose.

You’ll be thrown back into the flames.
It will feel like reliving your trauma all over again.
It will hurt.
And you’ll want to escape.

But the only way out for good, is through.

I know this sounds dramatic, but if you’ve survived sexual abuse and started a healing journey, you know exactly what I’m talking about. This is real.

You’re choosing to turn around and face everything you’ve spent years running from.
It’s the hardest decision you’ll ever make.

And it’s worth it.

I’m not speaking from theory.
I’m speaking from experience.

It’s worth going through hell again…
because this time, you don’t stay there.

Stay positive and take action!

NEW: I’ve started a private Facebook community called Survivor to Thriver Community: Healing, Support, and Growth. This community is by invite only. I want it to be a place where survivors can go to receive support from others that understand what they’re going through. If you’re interested, please send me an email at [email protected] and let me know.
