No one truly knows what it feels like to go through what you’ve gone through.
Even people who’ve experienced similar trauma may respond in completely different ways. Because trauma doesn’t affect everyone the same, it’s deeply personal.
That’s why it’s so important to remember: Your healing is yours.
People may try to tell you:
“You shouldn’t feel that way.”
“You should’ve handled it differently.”
“It’s time to move on.”
But here’s the truth:
They don’t get to decide that.
You are the only one who lived through your experience.
You’re the only one who knows the depth of your pain and what it’s going to take to heal.
One of the most powerful boundaries you can set, especially in the early stages of healing is this:
Keep unsupportive people out of your healing space.
You don’t have to be rude or harsh. But you do need to be clear:
“If you can’t support me right now, I need some space.”
It might feel difficult at first, especially if those people are close to you.
But this boundary is crucial to your recovery.
Some people will try to drag you down simply because they don’t understand.
Worse yet, some will become jealous as you begin to grow, heal, and change.
And they’ll do anything to keep you stuck because it’s easier for them to see you the way you used to be.
Keep them away.
You are not doing anything wrong by choosing to protect your healing.
You’re choosing growth.
You’re choosing truth.
You’re choosing you.
You have control over your healing journey.
You get to decide what it looks like, how it unfolds, and who gets to walk beside you.
So, give yourself permission to protect your peace.
You are worthy of support.
You are worthy of healing.
And you never have to apologize for removing anything or anyone that threatens that.
You’ve come too far to let anyone pull you back. Keep going. You’re healing.
Stay positive and take action!
Thank you for your support!
