Don’t fucking run.
Don’t fucking run from anything.
I had a meeting last week at 8:30 in the morning, and I wanted to find an excuse to cancel it. Everything in me wanted to postpone it because I didn’t feel like dealing with a vendor and negotiating with them at 8:30 in the morning.
However, I’m tired of running and I’m not doing that anymore.
This may not seem like a big deal, but it is when you have a past of running.
Every little challenge you face, you must have an attitude of fighting through it and not running from it or hoping someone else will take care of it.
We only get stronger when we choose to stay and fight. Strength is found in the battles, the daily battles of life.
I know what that running is all about now; it’s my survivor identity kicking in, telling me it’s time to run. There’s uncertainty on the horizon and it’s time to run.
I’ve been working on building my thriver identity for a while now, and I know it’s not time to run, it’s time to stay and fight.
It’s time to address the challenge and work through it.
You see, it’s never as bad as you think it’s going to be.
I can’t tell you how many times I painted the worst case scenario in my mind only to have things turn out really well when I decided to address the situation.
It’s not about having the answers, it’s about being willing to stick around and figure out the next step.
It’s about working through the challenge and seeing what you can do. It takes awareness and intention to do this when you’ve been running for a long time.
It’s time to stop running today and fight.
Today’s your day to change your life.
Stay positive and take action!
