Confidence

In today’s Saturday Self-Study, I chose the topic of confidence.
Confidence can be built.
If you’re not confident now, you can become confident.
It’s not something we’re born with, but it’s a mindset.
When you’ve experienced serious trauma like sexual abuse, your confidence is affected.
It’s affected big time.
Like I said, you can get it back.
Here are some questions to reflect on regarding your confidence:
1) What does confidence mean to me, and how do I recognize it in myself?
2) When do I feel most confident, and what circumstances or actions contribute to that feeling?
3) What are some past experiences where I overcame self-doubt, and how did that affect my confidence moving forward?
4) How do I compare my confidence with others, and how does this comparison influence how I feel about myself?
These questions were asked in a strategic order.
First, we must know what confidence means to us before we know how to get it.
Secondly, we can identify when we feel most confident so that we can do more of those things.
Thirdly, it’s good to use past experiences to prove that you are capable of being confident and have achieved it in the past.
Last but not least, stop comparing yourself to others.
You have no idea what someone’s going through.
They may look confident on the outside but may be crumbling on the inside.
Compare yourself to yourself of yesterday.
Again, pay close attention to what makes you feel confident, when you feel your most confident, and when you felt confident in the past.
Study these things and do more of them to build your confidence.
Stay positive and take action!
