What are you running from?

What void are you trying to fill and how are you trying to fill it?

Are you ready to change?

If not, why? What’s holding you back?

If you’re always thinking that having more is going to solve your problems, you’re going to be severely disappointed when it doesn’t.

I know I’ve been in that situation plenty of times in the past.

I would get promoted and get a raise thinking that the extra money was going to be such a relief only to find out it wasn’t.

Not only did I end up spending more money that took away that raise, but it didn’t fix things on the inside.

I’m not saying money is bad or that money doesn’t help, it does.

Things are a lot worse when you have no money.

However, it’s not going to fix the issues that are holding you back.

It’s not going to fix the emotional issues that are holding you back.

For example, if one of the ways in which you deal with trauma is by shopping, more money only means more shopping sprees.

Yes, I used to deal with my trauma by buying things.

It felt good in the moment but wore off quickly.

Not only did it not help me feel better, but it left me with debt as well because I was usually spending money I didn’t have at the time.

It all starts with your mindset.

Work on your mindset and things will start to improve in your life.

Your life will improve when you start facing your past.

You must stop running from your past and face it.

You’re going to have to face it until you get to the point where you accept it.

This is where you start making some serious change in your life.

Take one step at a time, get honest with yourself, and take action in the face of your fear and self-doubt.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What trauma are you currently avoiding?

  2. How are you currently dealing with your trauma or pain? Is it working?

  3. What’s one action you can take today that will help you start addressing your trauma?

Remember, it’s not going to be comfortable, and it’s not supposed to be.

If you want to change, rebuild your identity, you’re going to have to get uncomfortable.

When you start doing this, you’ll get stronger, you’ll gain confidence, and you’ll want to do it more.

You just need to get started.

Stay positive and take action!
